Professor Dan Chambers is a Thoracic Transplant Physician, Professor of Respiratory Medicine, and Executive Director of Research at Metro North Health, Australia’s largest health service. He is a widely acknowledged clinical expert in advanced lung disease, lung fibrosis, silicosis and transplantation.

Prof Chambers graduated from The University of Queensland with the University Medal and trained in Australia and the UK. His research program, one of the world’s largest, investigates novel drug, cell and other treatments for people with lung fibrosis, silicosis and transplant rejection. He has been named one of Australia’s foremost researchers in all fields and the top researcher in the field of transplantation.Together with his team he has led the response to silicosis in Australia, developing new diagnostic tests and treatment strategies.
